About the Opportunity

Arrow Energy is seeking a Drilling Safety Administration Coordinator to join its team, working from its field site in Dalby.

 

The main aim of this role will be to provide advice and assistance in the application of the Arrow Energy Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and other systems required by the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004, Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999, Qld Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995, Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 and other pertinent legislation.

 

The Drilling Safety Administration Coordinator will assist with the development, administration and implementation of strategies to improve health and safety performance within Arrow Energy.

 

You will be responsible for ensuring the Arrow Energy OHSMS meets legislative, industry and best practice standards.

 

Reporting to the Drilling Manager, some of your specific duties will also include:

 

  • Providing administration support, primarily to the Drilling Manager;
  • Ensuring document control and quality procedures are established and maintained for the OHSMS, in consultation with the Document Controller and the OHS Administrator;
  • Assisting in the distribution of all relevant OH&S related information to required persons within Arrow Energy;
  • Implementing/documenting legislative and procedural changes within the Arrow Energy OHSMS;
  • Assisting the OH&S Administrators to develop and deliver internal induction and OHS training programs, ensuring that all employees have adequate skills and knowledge regarding the OHSMS;
  • Assisting in the gathering and reporting of OH&S data and statistics;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the OH&S databases;
  • Assisting in the development of Workplace Rehabilitation Policies and Procedures to meet the requirements of the Q-Comp Certification;
  • Ensuring that employees that are injured and/or have an illness directly related to their work are able to return to the workplace in the safest and quickest manner;
  • Reviewing contractor OH&S tender submission documents;
  • Conducting Fitness for Work testing (drug and alcohol) as prescribed in the OHSMS; and
  • Carrying out field OH&S activities as directed by the Drilling Manager.

 

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and tertiary or TAFE qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline. In addition, an Internal Auditor qualification in either Safety (AS/NZS 4801) or Quality (ISO AS.NZS 9001) would be highly regarded.

 

The successful candidate will have three years previous experience in a field-based OH&S related position and demonstrated experience in implementing OH&S programs or initiative throughout an organisation.

 

In addition, the successful candidate will have a high level of understanding of relevant legislation, and the ability to manage complex working relationships to ensure that OH&S services being conducted across the organisation are provided seamlessly to line managers.
