About the Opportunity

 

Arrow Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its team, working from Head Office in Brisbane.

 

The purpose of this role is to provide mechanical engineering capabilities to assist Arrow achieve effective delivery of capital projects from conceptual design through to detailed design, implementation and commissioning:

• To the highest level of safety and environmental requirements
• To meet agreed quality, operability and cost effectiveness objectives
• Within agreed cost and schedule constraints

 

The primary focus of the role is the development of gas compression and processing facilities.

 

Key duties of the role will include (but are not limited to):

• Prepare early design documents such as concept design reports, specifications for FEED and design basis documents
  
• Lead the preparation of documents defining the owner's technical requirements for projects
• Undertake and/or manage the preparation of detailed design documents including calculations, drawings, data sheets, risk assessments and specifications for piping systems, vessels, pumps, valves and other mechanical equipment
  
• Contribute to the development of project budgets and schedules
• Supervise and liaise with engineering consultants during FEED and detailed design, ensuring that the owner's deliverables & quality requirements are achieved on cost & time
• Supervise field personnel and contractors engaged in construction and commissioning activities
  
• Assist the project team manage the works so that Project Costs are controlled within approved budgets, and project milestones are achieved within approved schedules
  
• Prepare plans and undertake the works for commissioning and hand-over to operations
• Act as a mentor for less experienced staff
• Other duties as directed by the Design and Engineering Manager
  

 

This position will require the applicant to have a mechanical engineering degree and corporate membership with (or eligibility for membership with) the Institute of Engineers, Australia.

 

Arrow is seeking someone 5 - 10 years experience in oil/gas or related process industry, and significant experience in mechanical engineering roles. The ideal candidate will also possess significant experience in the development of piping and instrument diagrams, design basis manuals, sizing and specification of equipment such as compressors and dehydrators, supervising construction contractors and leading commissioning teams

 

Experience in developing process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, sizing and specifying heat exchanges, pumps and separators, etc. and experience with waste heat recovery systems and water treatment is preferable.

 

This position is permanent full-time position. The role will be based in Brisbane but will require occasional visits to the various projects sites near Dalby and Moranbah.
