About the Opportunity

Arrow Energy is seeking a Project Engineer to join its team, working from Head Office in Brisbane.

 

The purpose of this role is to provide project engineering and management capability to assist Arrow to achieve effective delivery of capital projects.

 

The projects will include pipeline and processing infrastructure, including gas pipelines, well connections, compression, water/disposal treatment facilities, and civil and electrical infrastructure.

 

The role will be responsible for development and execution of projects under the leadership of the Senior Project Manager, from conceptual design through to detailed design, implementation and commissioning:

• To the highest level of safety and environmental requirements
• To meet agreed quality, operability and cost effectiveness objectives
• Within agreed cost and schedule constraints

Key duties of the role will include (but are not limited to):

• Providing a project leadership role in front-end planning, approvals, engineering and procurement, construction and commissioning handover to operations;
  
• Coordinating and contributing within a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient developments are achieved;
• Ensuring project costs are controlled within approved budgets;
  
• Ensuring project milestones are achieved within approved schedules;
• Coordinating project resources;
• Developing concept designs and design basis documents;
• Supervising field personnel and contractors engaged in construction and commissioning activities;
  
• Contributing  to the preparation of HSEC management plans for individual projects;
• Acting as a mentor for less experienced staff; and
• Other duties as directed by the Senior Project Manager.

This position will require the applicant to have an engineering degree and corporate membership with (or eligibility for membership with) the Institute of Engineers, Australia.

 

Arrow is seeking someone 5 years + experience in oil/gas, mining or energy industry, and significant experience in project development, project management/design and construction engineering.

 

Experience will also be required in the development of conceptual and feasibility studies for major infrastructure projects, as well as experience in the procurement of major capital equipment, managing large turnkey contracts and the development of pipeline and processing infrastructure.

 

The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to Occupational Health & Safety and protection of the environment. In addition, you will be self-motivated with a high level of initiative and adaptability, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills. You will also have demonstrated abilities in providing value adding engineering and technical support in an autonomous role.
